Delta Promenade immerses its listeners in the rich experience of the blues from the 1920's to the 1950's-- encompassing the acoustic blues of the Delta and the Piedmont, and ragtime and hokum music from New Orleans and early Chicago. Each Delta Promenade show not only lays down an infectious groove but includes a history lesson as well.

Guitarist and vocalist Steven Dolmatz is a lifelong student of the blues, wearing out Mississippi John Hurt and Blind Boy Fuller albums and imbibing the rich history of the blues at concerts with the masters and at workshops with the likes of John Cephas. Jan Peters has been playing and performing blues and various folk music since 1979 when he decided to make music his full time occupation. They often play as a duo as well as feature acoustic bass and/or old time blues fiddle in this highly contagious joyous music.
