Position Type: Full Time Hourly $23-$32 // + tips on shifts worked solo, Paid Time Off, Paid Sick Leave, a SIMPLE IRA retirement plan after one year, monthly beer benefits, and annual merchandise gift card Reduced hours in winter with flexibility for time off.

Shift: The Trackside General Manager (TGM)  is expected to work full time managing the daily operations of Kulshan’s Trackside location - including the Dog Days food truck operations and event operations. Hours will vary depending on the time of year, administrative workload, event schedule, and shift coverage needs. Hours can be flexed in any given week to allow time for both administrative tasks and on the floor support. The TGM is expected to have a regular presence at all Trackside Events and work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as required to ensure smooth operations. 

Education Requirement: Cicerone Certification preferred or willing to obtain certification within the first year.

Age Requirement: 21 or above

Work Experience: Five years minimum working in the food or beverage industry and at least two years managing a beer or wine focused establishment. Experience managing events, kitchens and venues is a plus. 

Position Summary: The Trackside General Manager oversees daily operations and staff at Kulshan Brewing’s Trackside Beer Garden, Dog Days Food Truck, and Trackside Event Operations - ensuring excellent customer experiences, efficient service, well-supported teams, and successful events. This hands-on leadership role includes hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating staff, enforcing policies, and addressing operational or personnel issues. The manager maintains POS systems, manages vendor relationships, oversees inventory and merchandising, and helps resolve challenges. They also plan and execute events, programming, and promotions to engage customers and drive revenue, while collaborating with the administrative team on strategic planning and continuous improvement.

Job Description:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Staff

  • Hire, onboard, and train staff  and assistant managers (Front-of-House (FOH) and Food Truck (FT)), ensuring new hires are in alignment with company values and service standards

  • Oversee and continuously improve the staff training program, including new-hire orientation, training shifts and on-going education

  • Manage team performance through scheduling, regular evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary action as needed

  • Lead, support, and motivate staff to deliver exceptional customer experiences and drive retail sales

  • Work bartending or serving shifts to stay connected with daily operations, support team coverage and balance labor costs

  • Promote staff development through customer service training, beer education and  team building

  • Serve as a key communication bridge between Admin and staff, ensuring clarity on policies, beer updates, sales initiatives, marketing efforts, and event details

  • Provide direct leadership, support, and oversight to the Trackside Bar Assistant Manager and the Dog Days Assistant Manager, ensuring both teams operate smoothly and consistently.

  • Establish clear expectations, workflows, and communication channels to keep bar and food truck leadership aligned on service standards, staffing needs, and daily operations.

  • Conduct regular check-ins, performance feedback, and coaching with Assistant Managers to foster growth, maintain accountability, and resolve operational challenges.

  • Coordinate with both Assistant Managers to plan for peak service periods, special events, and staffing adjustments to ensure a seamless guest experience across all Trackside operations.

Administrative:

  • Analyze daily, weekly and monthly sales performance metrics and take proactive, strategic action to improve cost control and drive growth

  • Prepare and review regular financial reports related to sales, labor costs, and inventory variances

  • Monitor budgets and forecast operational expenses 

  • Monitor labor data to inform staffing

  • Maintain accurate employee timecards by verifying hours worked and ensuring timely submission for payroll processing

  • Ensure all taproom operations comply with local, state, and federal liquor laws, health codes, and safety regulations

  • Maintain all required permits and licenses in good standing and coordinate with CEO as needed to update

  • Maintain accurate and organized point-of-sale (POS) systems, including pricing, inventory tracking, reporting and any troubleshooting

  • Regularly audit flow of inventory, timeclock accuracy, security footage, employee practices to ensure control over theft and product loss

  • Manage vendor relationships to curate high quality taproom offerings and ensure reliable supply, favorable pricing, and timely delivery of goods and services

  • Develop, document, and enforce policies and procedures to ensure consistency, compliance, and alignment with company values

  • Participate in strategic planning related to Trackside operations, customer experience, and business development

  • Maintain clear SOP’s related to scheduling, training, and performance management

  • Deal with queries, complaints and feedback from customers in a professional manner- in-person, email, and over the phone

  • Work within established budgets and actively manage costs to ensure efficient, financially responsible operations

  • Practice creative and proactive problem-solving to address operational challenges and enhance day-to-day efficiency

  • Develop and implement new ideas, strategies, and promotions to elevate customer experience, increase engagement, and drive taproom sales

  • Evaluate taproom technology and systems regularly, recommending improvements for increased operational efficiency

  • Oversee implementation and training on new tools and systems

  • Serve as a Kulshan brand ambassador, fostering positive relationships with customers and local community partners

  • Represent Kulshan at community events and promote engagement opportunities

Bar & Food Truck Operations:

  • Set and adjust hours of operation based on seasonality, customer demand, and staffing capacity

  • Make timely weather-related decisions for operations, including opening, closing, and staffing adjustments 

  • Facilitate clear and consistent communication with staff via Slack and other internal platforms

  • Coordinate and address routine and urgent maintenance needs to ensure smooth daily operations

  • Set and update pricing for all product offerings, including draft, non-alch options, food truck menu and merchandise, in alignment with company strategy and margins

  • Maintain accuracy and functionality of the point-of-sale (POS) system, ensuring smooth sales and reporting processes

  • Ensure inventory systems are current and precise across all product categories, including beer, wine, cider, non-alcoholic beverages, merchandise and food

  • Track inventory to minimize loss, reduce waste, and maximize profitability

  • Oversee the cleanliness, functionality, and maintenance of draft equipment and coolers, with the ability to troubleshoot basic issues

  • Ensure daily opening and closing procedures are executed properly, including cash handling and drawer setup at all locations

  • Maintain and enforce the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and presentation in all taproom and beer garden spaces

  • Coordinate with the Event Manager and Marketing Team to ensure events are properly staffed and executed successfully

  • Support continuous process improvement aligned with departmental goals and Kulshan’s commitment to excellent customer service

  • Order and manage supplies for trackside, including guest beverages, glassware, paper goods, merchandise, and other essentials

  • Handle table reservations and manage scheduling and staffing 

  • Oversee the Front-of-House beer sensory program to ensure product quality and staff education

  • Lead response to emergencies or incidents within the taproom, ensuring customer and staff safety

  • Document and report incidents accurately and follow up on corrective action

Events:

  • Oversee the execution of the Trackside Event Program for 2026

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of all events and programming in 2027

  • Help Scope, plan, and schedule a wide range of events, including:

    • Live music programming

    • Community events

    • Fundraising events

    • Staff celebrations

  • Create private event rental program 

  • Collaborate with Event and Marketing Managers and other staff to ensure events are strategically planned, properly staffed and executed successfully.

  • Maintain prompt and professional communication with organizations and individuals seeking event space opportunities or collaborative projects.

  • Direct communications from individuals and organizations to the proper channels to ensure the event or gathering gets due consideration and ensure successful execution
