Assistant Trackside manager

Reports To: Trackside General Manager

Schedule: During Trackside season, the average work week is 40 hours, split between limited administrative work and bar shifts. Administrative work is expected to be approximately 8-10 hours per week, with scheduled bar shifts 3-4 times per week (Thursday-Sunday each week). Occasional overtime may be necessary.  

****The Assistant Trackside Manager role is seasonal. However, opportunity for employment with Kulshan Brewing on the year-round FOH team is available. In the off-season this person can continue as a full time bartender at our Sunnyland or Roosevelt (K2) location, maintaining full time hours.

Education Requirement: No Formal Education Required. Cicerone Beer Server Certification is preferred or willingness to obtain certification within the first year.

Work Experience: Previous experience in the food or beverage industry, brewery specific experience preferred. Prior supervisory experience is a plus.

Job Description:

The Assistant Trackside Manager will be a lead person at the Trackside Beer Garden. This person will work three or more days per week behind the bar, take a lead role in overseeing the day-to-day operations, assist with supply orders, train new hires, maintain appropriate inventory, and assist with event execution. The Assistant Trackside Manager will communicate regularly with the Trackside General Manager, and support the flow of information between FOH staff and the Trackside General Manager. This position is responsible for upholding and demonstrating company values and policies, while ensuring our standards of quality and service to customers are met. 

Prior food and beverage experience, base knowledge, and passion for craft beer are required. Cicerone Beer Server Certification is preferred, or a willingness to obtain the certification within the first year of hire. Supervisory experience is desired. Must be team oriented and interested in continuing to increase your knowledge of craft beer.

Trackside Beer server

Reports To: Trackside General Manager, Trackside Assistant Manager

Position Type: This position is Seasonal (April-October). 

Part-Time/Full-Time hours available. Compensation includes minimum wage plus tips. FOH staff participate in a tip pool, with 7% of credit card tips distributed to non-exempt production staff.

Shift: Hours may vary based on full-time or part-time status, event schedule, weather, and shift coverage needs. All Beer Servers are expected to maintain a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to ensure smooth taproom operations.

Qualified staff may be eligible to pick up shifts at Kulshan Brewing’s other taprooms as coverage needs arise with manager approval, provided scheduling allows and the needs of the Trackside location are met.

Education Requirement: Cicerone Beer Server Certification is a bonus, but not required 

Age Requirement: 21 or above

Position Summary: Trackside Beer Garden is Kulshan Brewing’s high-volume, seasonal outdoor location. Trackside Seasonal Beer Servers are responsible for creating a fun, welcoming, and educational experience for all guests. This position is ideal for energetic, fast-paced individuals who enjoy working outdoors and engaging with a lively crowd of all ages. Servers are responsible for providing excellent hospitality through knowledgeable beer service, friendly guest interactions, and efficient point-of-sale operation. Staff are expected to uphold Kulshan’s Core Values while contributing to a collaborative, positive team environment. Key responsibilities include pouring and serving beverages, educating guests on Kulshan products, promoting offerings to enhance the guest experience, and maintaining a clean, organized space for both guests and team members. Front-of-House staff also support events through setup and teardown, assist with stocking and keg management. This position requires strong communication skills, the ability to learn quickly, and comfort working in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description:

  • Restock product and assist with inventory counting. 

  • Maintain clear, professional communication with management and team members; promptly report any issues or customer concerns.

  • Handle customer incidents or issues professionally and escalate to management when appropriate.

  • Strictly adhere to Washington State liquor laws and all company policies.

FOOD TRUCK (DOG DAYS) ASSISTANT MANAGER

Reports To: Trackside General Manager (TRM)

Position Type: Full Time Seasonal Position, Hourly, $20 - $25/hr plus tips on cooking shifts. Benefits include sick leave pay and monthly beer benefits.

Shift: Average work week is 30-40 hours, split between administrative work and cooking shifts. Administrative work is expected to be approximately 5-10 hours per week, with scheduled shifts 3-4 times per week (Thursday-Monday each week). 

Age Requirement: 21 or above

Work Experience: Previous experience in the food or beverage industry required, supervisory experience is a plus. 

Position Summary: The Dog Days Assistant Manager (DDAM) will be the lead person in Trackside’s Food Truck. Administratively, this position takes on a lead role in overseeing the day to day operations of the Food Truck. This position is responsible for managing inventory and ordering supplies, maintaining a clean and organized food truck, and resolving staff issues to ensure smooth daily operations. The AFTM will communicate regularly with the Trackside General Manager, and support the flow of information between the Food Truck staff working at Trackside in the truck and the TGM.  This position is responsible for upholding and demonstrating company values and policies, while ensuring our standards of quality and service to customers are met. 

Job Description: The Dog Days Assistant Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Food Truck Staff Support

  • Work 3-4 shifts per week (Thursday-Monday) and be available to cover shifts as needed

  • Assist in training Food Truck staff, both for new hires and ongoing training

  • Facilitate flow of information between the Trackside General Manager and the food truck staff, such as policies, upcoming Trackside events, new menu choices, maintenance needs, etc.

  • Assist with regular food truck staff communication via established channels (Slack, email, etc) 

  • Provide exceptional customer service and assist Trackside General Manager with related staff training

  • Deal with queries, complaints and feedback from customers in a professional manner

  • Contribute ideas for improvement.

Operations Support

  • Serve as the main point of contact for vendor relationships 

  • Manage weekly orders and maintain accurate inventory 

  • Update Point of Sale systems when needed

  • Update and accurately maintain food truck menus on a regular basis

  • Assisting in maintenance upkeep of the food truck, including routine daily and weekly cleaning tasks

Team Members are responsible for delivering excellent service and high-quality food to every guest while helping create a fun, welcoming, and energetic atmosphere. Staff are expected to uphold Kulshan’s Core Values while contributing to a collaborative, positive team environment. Key responsibilities include preparing and cooking food quickly and accurately to order, educating guests about menu items, promoting offerings to enhance the overall guest experience, and maintaining a clean, organized space for both guests and team members.
