Trackside Live Music - Jessie Thoreson & the Crownfire + Gibson, Medler & Dye

Gibson, Medler & Dye

7 to 8pm

Kian Dye first picked up a violin when he was 6 years old, and has been wowing audiences in the Pacific Northwest ever since. Kian was a founding member of the Portland bluegrass bands The Wildwood and Never Come Down, and is currently working on the debut album for his newest project, Virginia Rail.
Forrest Gibson got his musical start in the wilds of Alaska, learning guitar in a 10x12 log cabin. He has been a driving force performing, recording, and touring with a deep focus on the blues, bluegrass, swing, old time and beyond.
Michael Medler teaches Geography at WWU. In the 1980s, he also majored in music, playing jazz, classical, and even punk on upright bass. For the last last decade he has been focusing on Bluegrass and Americana, playing with The Yankee Drives and the High Mt. String Band. You can also find him sitting in and holding down the low end with many other local acts.
